(500) Days of Summer Review
18:29 // Saturday, December 12
OK, I admit!!
I'm wasting my weekend doing nothing except watching movies & shows online. And, I'm blogging this review as I'm watching it. =P The story started with Day-500, the couple seating side-by-side smiling happily, making me think that they are together. But my friends feedback is, they are not... so I'm continuing with the movie. Then the montage of, what I'm guessing, the childhood of the lead actor - Tom, and actress - Summer. After which, they proceed to the 'aftermath' of Tom's breakup with Summer. 15 minutes into the movie, and I'm completely bored out by it. I guess, the lead actor has 妄想症, he simply thinks too much!! LOL. Telling his friends that Summer is not interested in him, cause she ignored all the hints that he's giving. May I ask: How does playing a song from the band that they both like, loudly in the office, is a hint that he likes her?! Ridiculous!! I wouldn't even notice such hints!! Day-31 2nd day of their sort of dating - they started kissing in the copy-room!! Hallo~! Is that supposed to be normal?! Then, the funny thing that Tom and Summer treat the IKEA showroom as their home and started 'roleplaying' in there, being husband and wife. And the most 'diao-ed' part was them running to the so called 'bedroom', and can you believe it?! Tom actually sort of crawled on to the bed and lay beside Summer, then commented, "Darling, I don't know how to tell you this but, there's a Chinese family in our bathroom." LOL. It's not that hilarious, but its funny. And they continue treating the 'bedroom' like their own and lied there so comfortably kissing!! >.< Day-259 Quoting Tom: "This is not how you treat your friend. Kissing in the copy room? Holding hands in IKEA? Shower sex? Come on, friends my balls!" Erm... actually, not to upset Tom, but there's such 'friends'. It's called "ONS - One Night Stand". OK, maybe not ONS, it can be MNS - Multiple Night Stands. Whatever. The movie gets pretty interesting towards the end. Day 440: Tom gets suicidal (my opinion on him drinking and wasting his life), after learning that Summer is engaged. [1:10:52] Finally, he vents out his anger and frustation at work. And all that he says really make alot of sense. It can talk some sense into people. Finally, he quits and 振作起来. The thing that I love and hate about the movie is how the director films the movie.
The comparison is great! I cannot keep track of which day of their meeting is the movie at!! LOL. It shuffles about like my iPod on shuffle. Total All in all, the movie is not really my type of the movie, cause it still bores me. But, after reading through some reviews (such as this and this) and getting some insights of the movie, I guess, I cannot be too critical about the movie being a waste of time. Let's just say, it is not my cup of tea. Period. OK, moral of the story: Boy meets girl. Boy fall in love with girl. Girl doesn't. Favourite Quote: Il est brisé. (He is broken.) Plus que brisé, il est seul. (More than broken, he is alone.) maintenant son seule amie est la douleur. (Now his only friend is grief.) Go for it? You can do it? That's not inspirational, that's suicidal. If Pickles (name of cat) goes for it right there, it's a dead cat. (points to picture where Pickles is on the ledge on there a bird right in front of it) This is lies, we are liers. I figure out why people buy these cards, it's not to say how they feel. They buy cards cause they can't say how they feel, or they are afraid to. We provide the service to let them off the hook. *That explains why celebration cards are so expensive these days* Labels: Movie Review |
