Virgin Frappuccino Experience
21:03 // Friday, May 20
You know, typical Singaporean, where there's SALES, there's CROWD. And so, I decided to be part of the crowd and enjoy my first Frappuccino on the last day of Starbucks Happy Hour. XD
Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino® Blended Crème A classic combination of strawberries and milk blended with ice, topped with whipped cream. MUST KNOW WHAT YOU ARE CONSUMING!! - so I did a little research on Frappuccino and the drink I bought... Frappuccino Definition - a trademark for a drink made of coffee blended with milk, crushed ice, and flavourings. Frappuccino is a registered trademark of Starbucks, and are served in a number of different flavours; some Frappucinos are based on tea rather than coffee. The Starbucks website notes that it began serving the Frappuccino in 1995. However, Frappucino is said to have roots in Italy, from the frappe and cappuccino, the later being a coffee styled with frothed milk on the top. An American coffee shop chain The Coffee Connection in East Massachusetts actually developed, copyrighted and named the Frappucino. The name was taken from a type of milkshake called a "frappe" that was unique to the New England area. (In much of New England, the word "milkshake" means milk with syrup that is shaken until frothy; a "frappe" is similar to what is thought of as a milkshake in the rest of the United States.) In 1994, Starbucks bought over the The Coffee Connection chain, which lead to the Frapuccino being heavily advertised and resulted in the Frappucino being sold worldwide within years. ![]() Looks nothing close to interesting... (the product photo) as compared to... ![]() Credits: Starbucks Singapore My 2 Pennies Worth of Thoughts... First Taste: Sweet. Mild strawberry taste First Thought: An oily, fattening strawberry milkshake (cause of the whipped cream layer). To conclude, not a very big fan of this drink with the oily aftertaste that lingers in the mouth, like some cheap chocolate. The strawberry-taste is not strong enough and the drink seems "pale without blood" =P Totally cannot compare to Strawberry MOShake in terms of price and taste, plus the overall feel. So not going to buy another Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino® Blended Crème, but may try out other variations of the Frappuccino. =D Labels: Food review |
