The White Party @ The Arena
20:16 // Sunday, June 24
![]() Organised by Safra & Fuse, I was invited by Jonathan to The White Party held at Arena. Not sure if the organisers really knew the meaning behind a White Party... but based on their event description and content, it seems as though they don't... =/ The White Party is a themed LGBT held in many parts of the world, including New York City, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Palm Springs, California; and Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Australia and most recently, Thailand although the events are independent of each other. The all-white clothing theme was chosen by co-founder Frank Wager because, as he said, "White stands for purity. White is elegant, non-political, non-combative and makes people look just plain beautiful." For more information: White Party Week School has taught me that for every event organised and held, there is a purpose to it. But the event ended and I left Arena feeling lost of what am I suppose to take away with me from this event. And to think they went through the effort of coming up with Emcee and a list of programs for the night, as well as publicity, sponsors and even giving complimentary tickets. O_o Personally, I felt that the atmosphere was a little down. The White Party began smoothly with short quiz questions and a dance sequence as the opening to warm the crowds, followed by games. The Emcee is extremely eloquent and funny, and the event started to get "high" only to be brought down by song performance. The event closed with a "fashion parade" sponsored by Jipaban and another dance sequence. Seriously, songs should be chosen carefully, picking those that the audience are familiar with and able to sing along to, rather than those classics retro songs and turning everyone quiet. During an event, the mood of the crowds should be built upon. Once it is down, it is hard to get it up again. Poor Emcee trying her best to bring up the mood, which is always brought down by the song performance. Emcee for the night, Gina, dressed in Las Vegas' showgirl style =P I'm secretly in love with the lady from the dance group... XP Games - Depicting "LONG" with the legs. LOL Veron Yang, she has an amazing voice... but the songs chosen just doesn't really fit the crowd. Another game - To dress up the chosen ones who did not dress in white for the White Party with Gina's items. LOL. I can't stop laughing at the corset!!! HAHA! and they wore it the other way round. XP Fashion Parade to end the night... |
