Presented by Celebrity Makeup Artist, Larry Yeo, we were given many tips and tricks to skincare procedures, touching up of makeup and many others! =)

To start off, we were given an introduction to Za's new skincare range, understanding the rationale and concept as well as how it differs from other skincare range under Za. During the presentation, Larry told us the myths and legends of cosmetic and makeup, as well as providing us with additional knowledge such that we can choose the products wisely. =D


Everyone is provided with these basic tools... but I only used the blush brush due to mysophobia.
Seriously I don't like sharing makeup tools, especially lipliner and eyelash curler as they have they closest contact point to sensitive area. =X


As stated... Cleansing Gel
Before starting the whole workshop proper, of course we are required to remove our makeup!
Instead of the Total Hydration Foamy Cleanser, they provided this since they can't provide everyone with a sink to wash our face. =P This can be used instantly by rubbing on, and less of a hassle with a baby wipe. It has similar effect as a facial wash =)
I really likes this product as it leaves a soft silky-smooth texture and my face feels hydrated! I don't even feel the need to have a facial wash =P Even though the current makeup remover I'm using has similar outcome, the usage is more of a hassle a I need to pump out the solution onto a cotton wool. Also, comparing with Hada Labo's Super Hyaluronic Acid Makeup Remover, which leaves a sticky feel and needs to be rinsed off.
Seriously, I'm considering to change my makeup remover already!!!
Larry's tip: Do not wash your face with hot water as it strips moisture away!


Next up, TONER!!
In the Total Hydrating range of toner, there is a choice of Fresh and Moist.
Fresh is for the normal and combi-skin, while Moist as it suggests, is for the dry skin that needs the extra moisture.
What it claims to do:
Preps the skin while removing excess sebum, dead skin cells and nourishes skin for a vibrant glow with the presence of Amino Mineral Complex.
I was given only Moist to try out. But as promised, the toner is really "light" on the skin, felt no difference from the Estee Lauder's toner that I normally used. =P
If you feel a tingling sensation when applying a toner, don't bother using but proceeds to moisturising. Toner is used to lockup the existing moisture within the skin, and a tingling sensation implies that there is no moisture within for the toner to have an effect on.


Followed by Moisturiser...
Similarly, the Total Hydrating holds a selection of Dewy and Milky.
Dewy is for the normal and combi-skin, while Milky as it suggests, is for the dry skin that needs the extra moisture.
What it claims to do:
Minimises greasiness and appearance of pores with the Sebum Holding Powder while infusing skin with moisture for smooth, plump and translucent skin.
We were given a little of both the Dewy and Milky to try on and rub onto our hands. Both had a similar feel, I don't feel that one is more moisturising than the other... and personally, I don't like the stickiness that lingers...
Also, after applying it I had a rash outbreak, and it would be with me for 3-4 days till it fully recovers!! T.T
Larry's Tip: Anything that states "Milky" suggests to be more hydrating than others.
Rub and spread the moisturiser evenly onto the palm, then applies to the face. This way, the finger will be able to feel the "dry" spots and rubs it in. Also, the heat from the palm enhances the absorption of the moisturiser.


Total Hydration Essence - Pore Care / Blemish Care
What it claims to do:
Pore Care Essence - Special care essence that instantly minimizes appearance of dilated pores and greasiness, giving skin a smooth-textured vibrant glow.
Blemish Care Essence - Prevents blemishes and skin inflammation. Allows skin to be blemish resistant! Smooths and prevents skin inflammation.
The assistant walks to me with the product, looks at my face and said "your face is so good, can skip the product" LOL. So I did not get to try it.
In my opinion, there's no such thing as blemish resistant, since all of us have melanins we are all prone to blemishes under the Sun's UV exposure. Also, I think such products need prolong use to justify its effectiveness, and I really love the product that I currently used as a preventive measure against blemishes. So... people, please try it out yourself! =)


Total Hydration BB Cream UV
What it claims to do:
12-in-1 BB Cream for a Healthy Glowing Look.
6 Foundation Elements: Work as base make-up, concealing pores and dark spots, correcting uneven colour, lightening skin colour, and creating healthy skin tone.
4 Skincare Formulas: Sebum Holding Powder: Relieves stickiness; Vitamin B derivative: Keeps skin fresh; Amino Mineral Complex: Moisturises to minimise pores; Prism Enhancer: Makes skin luminous clarity.
2 Kinds of UV Protection: SPF 30 & PA+++
It is said to be able to help correct the yellowish facial tone problem that most Asian would having, hence portray a healthy look. But the tint is lightly darker, so not advisable for the lighter skin complexion ladies, hence I used the True White Plus Instant Brightener. Similar UV Protection without tint, so it can't be used as a make up base, but it makes the skin looks translucent cause of the whitening effect. ^-^

Concealer Perfection
Larry mentioned that it is extremely hard to find one tint of concealer that will ultimately fit a person's complexion, so most of the time, 2 tint of concealer is blended in an attempt to achieve the perfect tint of concealer. =)


Mascara Base & Impact Lash Mascara
Personally, I don't like this product cause the removal is extremely difficult!!! >.< Normally, I can remove my mascara with my make-up removal or lotion easily by pressing the cotton wool dabbed with the removal agent against the lashes lightly for about 20seconds. But it does not work with the product and I had to hunt high and low for the lip-eye removal. Luckily, my sister had a bottle cause I finished mine and has yet to make a purchase. If not I can't remove it =X Larry's tip: Always use a mascara base to protect our eyelashes!
For a less clumpy look, dab away excess on a piece of tissue before applying & in a zig-zag motion.

Apricot Pink is not advised for ladies with a lighter skin complexion as it will makes you look yellow and ragged. While June Bride is used as a highlight =)
I was advised to highlight the nose bridge and chin area to enhance the facial features.

Personally, I loved this product! Upon application, I could feel the soft and smoothness that accompanies without the sticky feeling =) But Larry mentioned that it is advisable to use twice a week or when required.
